Harde de cerfs écoutant le rapproché

Deer Herd Listening to the Approach, from the animalist sculptor Arthur Le Duc. The sculpted group was made in the 19th century, when Animalier school was rising across Europe, mostly around Paris.

We observe the buck, on the lookout for hunters pursuing them, protecting its herd. Arthur Le Duc made a very detailed artwork, succeeding to capture the emotions of the creatures.

The bronze work was purchased in 1886 by the National Museums, and it was attributed to the Luxembourg Museum, in 1889.
